The University of the Western Cape is the only University in the Western Cape which offers a qualification in Pharmacy ranging from bachelors to masters degrees in Pharmacy.

Pharmacists have a responsibility to play meaningful roles in the healthcare of the people they serve. They do this through an emphasis on the correct and rational use of medicines and related products. There is also an acute shortage of and thus a great need for pharmacists in South Africa and in various other countries in the world. A B Pharm qualification can lead to many varied worldwide opportunities.

UWCAPS is the official student body for UWC pharmacy students. UWCAPS is involved in everything from charity drives, to drug information programmes, to planning the next social gathering such as sports days and braais. We also act as a bridge between the students and the department. UWCAPS has a rich history extending over many years.
